KBI 311498 New Feature: PLINK Is Not Required For Linux/UNIX Monitoring
Version
Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-1610-D and later versions
Date
Friday, 30 December 2016
Summary
When earlier versions of Argent monitor Linux/UNIX with SSH option, they requires 3rd party program PLINK.EXE, which is part of PuTTY package
Argent AT installation package does not include PLINK.EXE; customer has to download separately from http://www.putty.org/ and place PLINK.exe in C:\Windows
Argent AT 5.1A-1610-D has been enhanced to include built-in SSH functions
As a result, PLINK is no longer required for Linux/UNIX monitoring
Argent AT 5.1A-1610-D still retains the capability of monitoring using PLINK
It is controlled by registry SOFTWARE\Argent\COMMON\SSH_LIBRARY
It can take following values:
- 1 – Use PLINK
- 2 – Use built-in SSH library
This is the default value
If customer needs to rollback to use PLINK for some reason, he can change the registry value to 1
This registry setting is automatically propagated among Motors, from Mother Engine to Daughter Engines, and from Main Engine to Trusted Agents
