Summary

When “localhost” is used for the SQL Server Name while installing the Argent XT Products, the Client GUI’s do not install and cause issues during the install process.

The full server name should be used instead.

Technical Background

“Access Denied” or “Connectivity” errors will appear during the installation of a Client GUI when “localhost” is used in the SQL Server Name for the Argent XT install.

Resolution

Use the full Server Name and NOT “localhost” for all installations when specifying the Backend SQL Server’s details.
