“The description could not be found”

at the start of all events read from windows 64-bit servers.

Technical Background

When examining the Argent Data Consolidator reports for Windows 64-bit servers the description field shows

“The description could not be found“.

This appears at the start of all events read from windows 64-bit servers.

The same description field starting values occur even if the 64-bit DLL’s are loaded in to the EVTLOG_MSGDLL directory.

Installing the 32-bit Argent Data Consolidator Transfer Engine locally on a Windows 64-bit server also resulted in the description field text starting with “The description could not be found“.

An issue report has been raised.

No known workaround.
