Summary

Argent Advanced Technology Main Engine or Daughter Engine may be disabled due to licensing issue in some proxy environment

Customer sees following lines in service log:

The service is running in disabled mode and does no monitoring

The issue is caused by proxy setting in the machine

Technical Background

Argent Advanced Technology uses Win32 API ‘UrlDownload‘ to communicate with www.argent.com to check license status

Incorrect proxy setting can cause the API to return erroneous result, and Argent Advanced Technology mistakenly treats the license as disabled

Resolution

Customer can correct the issue by uncheck the proxy setting in ‘Internet Option‘ (Control Panel)
