KBI 312036 Enhancement: New Feature Relator Interval By Node Monitoring Level

Version

Argent Omega 2.2A-2301-A and above

Date

Summary

A new option is implemented in Relator such that the Relator execution interval is determined by the target server or device’s Monitoring Level configured in CMDB-X. The execution interval for each Monitoring Level is configurable in the Engine settings page.

Technical Background

Currently, a Relator is executed as per the schedule defined in its When To Run (Schedules) tab. It is possible to specify the execution interval here. Argent Calendar can also be used here.

A new option named Use Server Or Device Monitoring Level is implemented in schedule definition screen:

When this option is checked, the execution interval of that Relator is determined by the target server’s or device’s Monitoring Level configured in the CMDB-X properties:

There are four Monitoring Levels available to configure for a server or device in CMDB-X. They are:

  • Low
  • Normal
  • High
  • Critical

Configure this according to the monitoring preferences of the server or device. The default Monitoring Level is Normal.

The Relator execution interval for each Monitoring Level is configurable in Default Monitoring Interval (Low, Normal, High, Critical) field in Argent Omega Engine configuration screen:

When the Use Server Or Device Monitoring Level option for a Relator is selected, it executes at the above-configured interval based on the Monitoring Level of the target server or device.

The change in the Default Monitoring Interval (Low, Normal, High, Critical) value will propagate to Primary, Secondary, and Offload Generators.
