KBI 311501 Housekeeping-Controlling Data Retention In Argent Defender Ultra

Version

Argent Defender Ultra 1611-C and later

Date

Wednesday, 4 January 2017

Summary

Argent Defender Ultra allows customers to control how much historical data to keep – this prevents the database from ballooning and using up too much disk space

Technical Background

As a rough estimate, each individual script execution stores around 500 bytes of Argent Predictor data

So depending on the frequency and number of scripts, customers can calculate roughly how much data would be used, and determine the Maximum Days To Keep Argent Predictor Data number of days they can retain data

Waterfall data, on the other hand, varies greatly, and can range from 10,000 bytes to over 500,000 bytes, depending on the length of the script, and number of components on each page transition
